Shared cataloging system

Shared cataloging system (SCS) is organized for the purpose of coordination and cooperation of libraries and information institutions of the Republic of Belarus in order to establish and maintain a national system of cataloging of documents aimed at the formation of corporate bibliographic resources. On corporate basis participants create bibliographic records for the national central electronic catalog.

Institutions of the Republic of Belarus that are interested in the creation and use of corporate information resources have open access to SCS.

Main conditions for joining SCS are - the practice of technology of forming records in national machine-readable formats of communication BELMARC and  BELMARC/Authorities and the use of ISIL-code - international standard identifier.
